Question concerning map icons

So last night I was playing. Assigned to OPFOR, as always it seems, I encountered a situation in which I'm seeking an answer.

I was in the OPFOR base and heard gunfire. I looked at the map and noticed two white icons on the north end of the airfield. I assumed these white icons were independents so I decided to engage them as they came closer to the OPFOR base. As they approached the OPFOR base I suddenly noticed two other icons that displayed as red. Now there were four icons on the map, two red and two white. I scanned the airfield in the direction of the white icons and engaged one of the icons. I wacked him and the Team Kill message appeared. First, I'm not a team killer and profusely apologized to the person. He never replied via chat but I apologized again.

If a person is on OPFOR, what color is used for BLUFOR or Independents? Is everybody red or white? Will the BLUFOR appear as blue icons?

BTW, I like the PST server a ton. I get a good FPS and like the scenarios offered.

Thanks for any replies.

That is a new one to me. There shouldn't even be a white icons as far as I know. Opfor is red, blufor is blue and Independent is green. So it could have been a server glitch causing this. I've seen things happen because of the server code itself.

Thanks for the reply Doc. It was definitely four different icons, two red and two white in different spots on the airport.

Thanks again, have a good one.

If that ever happens again leave the server then rejoin back to see if it clears it up. Remember BIS well Arma 3 is still glitched currently. BIS has their hands full, but I can say I've seen other games worse.

You may see 1 civilian ICON during just one of the missions. I can't remember the name of the mission but that is the only civilian icon you will see. You should not be able to see AI on the map, thats the way Wasteland was created.

The AI from the Missions are civilians in Wasteland that is how they originally set it up. This is the only way they can get the AI to fight all three factions. So yea White icons are AI but you will not see them that much. Also I think the server was glitched some. This is the problem with shared servers where everybody and their mom are sharing the same hardware server. This is why we decided to go with pure dedicated server, we are the only people on this server so we can run 4 instances of the game and you won't even notice it. Right now we are running Altis and Australia. If I can find another great map I will add another one. So I am researching to add another Wasteland map.

Must be a glitch because AI icons are purple so it couldn't have been AI
